Meet Our Builder Team
Carolina Contracting Company, a Wilmington-based residential building company, was founded in 2003 by John Wallace. While growing up in Raleigh North Carolina, John learned the business by working for a reputable home builder, Richard Wallace Builder, Inc., and received a degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from N.C. State University. After graduation, John relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where he furthered his experience working in commercial construction for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.
Since he and his wife decided to return home to North Carolina and start Carolina Contracting Company, John has built the company's reputation around the principles of good design, sound construction, and an attention to detail. The homes Historic District are a testimony to the fact that quality construction and workmanship remain affordable. At Southwest Plantation John intends to continue to build the company's reputation by providing quality housing that buyer's will be proud to call "home".
Ed began Kampschroeder Construction, Inc. in 1994 after 25 years in the corporate world. His wife of 40 years, Betty, uses her 14 years of experience in real estate to locate prime properties for building. Ed is known not only for his soundly built homes and excellent renovations, but also for his honesty and integrity.
In 1996, his son Brian joined the company. In the 2001 Parade of Homes, Brian won Best Overall Floor Plan, Best Kitchen, and Best Master Bath design in his category. Like his father, Brian takes great pride in his work and in maintaining an outstanding reputation.
In 2002, son Todd joined the company. Todd brings to the company extensive knowledge in construction and a persistent and caring work ethic. The Kampschroeder team members share one goal and that is to make building your home a delightful experience.
Richard Wallace has built homes in the Raleigh NC market for the past 30 years. A graduate of North Carolina State University, over the years Richard has developed residential communities and built well over 600 homes. He and his wife, Cindi, decided to relocate in the Wilmington area after two of their four sons choose Wilmington as their home. Both sons are actively involved in the local building industry. Greg Wallace works as the field manager for Richard Wallace Builder Inc., and John has his own home building company, Carolina Contracting Company. A third son is working for a British firm in India and the fourth is an Army aviator stationed in Savannah Georgia.
Richard seeks to build a home that the homeowner will feel "good to come home to"; and know that he has made a solid investment in his future financial wellbeing.
The value offered by Southwest Plantation is what attracted Richard to the community. "In Southwest Plantation I see that I can buy reasonably priced lots in a first class golf course community and build a well crafted home and offer the buyer the value that will ensure their satisfaction. In doing so I'll continue my tradition of offering enduring value to my home buyers."
Our Building Philosophy
Each individual, every family has a vision of their ideal home. Cozy bungalow, rambling estate, care-free townhouse. Stancil Builders will build the home that suits you.
The Stancil Builders Tradition
This three-generation team has always been a tight knit family. All three of the Stancil team members were raised on a tobacco farm, and this is where it all began.
Freddie Stancil grew up with construction. Ray Stancil, his father and former partner, started building in 1949 in the off farming season for family and friends. After his retirement, Freddie continued to grow the company. Bradley Stancil, Freddie's son, joined the company after graduation from Campbell University, and continues to oversee construction projects as well as helping with their in-house development company (IOM Developers). He now has his own company, Bradley Built, which is growing by leaps and bounds.
Stancil Builders has 6 superintendents plus a fully staffed office. In 2001, a Coastal Division was established and continues to thrive. They are currently building in 7 counties and build over 100 homes a year.
